Don't have your own boat yet?  Wanting to go for a paddle with family or friends?  Ready to hang out the gone paddlin' sign on your office door?  Interested in a taste of the latest fitness and fun craze?  We rent canoes from Nova Craft and Wenonah, kayaks from Wilderness Systems and Current Designs, and SUPs from BIC and NRS.

Rates:

• Our rental fleet is intended for lakes and non-classified rivers (deep, slower-moving rivers, no whitewater).  If you're unsure about river conditions or use, please ask one of our staff.  We know the lakes and rivers in the region well and we can help there too!
  
  
• Reservations are strongly encouraged for both on-site and off-site rentals. We want to make sure we have a boat for you
  
  
• Boat renters must be at least 18.   Adults must accompany anyone under 18.
  
  
• A Personal Flotation Device (PFD, lifejacket) & paddle are included with each boat rental.

• Sorry, leave the alcohol at home. We don't allow alcohol in our boats.
  

• Rentals are due back 30 minutes prior to the close of business on the day they are due.

• Half Day rentals are defined as:

• Off-site renters may pick up their boat(s) one half hour before the close of business on the evening prior to their departure.  (We know what its like to pack and road trip.)

• Off-site renters must have an approved roof rack (a factory rack with cross-bars, Yakima, Thule, or the like) on their vehicle for boat transport. 
  

• Rutabaga offers tandem canoe rentals for Madison's annual Paddle and Portage race. The price is $75 per boat package. This fee does not include race registration which must be done prior to the race. (http://www.paddleandportage.org). We will deliver your rental to the start of the race and pick it up at the finish line. We have a limited number of canoes, so call early to reserve your canoe.
