Our CPE (Chief Paddling Evangelist) Darren worked with Bending Branches to design a new family of canoe paddles that would paddle efficiently and quietly, look pretty, and be completely unique to Rutabaga.

The Dragonfly is one of the two paddles that was born. Wider than the slender Meadowhawk, the Dragonfly uses a slightly tapered tip similar to a traditional beavertail or ottertail.

Darren's design is a little wider, making in-water recovery and sculling strokes smoother and more efficient then a square tipped blade. The gentle flare and taper of the blade makes for a subtly attractive straight shaft paddle.
The Dragonfly is a clean, simple and beautiful paddle from the fine craftspeople at Bending Branches. Our thanks to them for the collaboration and the opportunity for Darren to name something after his beloved odonates.

You can see pictures of the paddles being designed here, here and  here.
