The Ultimate 14.5 solo is my go-to kayak for fishing our Midwestern rivers and lakes. I have added a few rod holders, an anchor trolley and cleats, and pad-eyes at the ends of the boat for using an anchor in some of the faster flowing rivers where Steelhead can be found. My favorite way to fish with this boat is to drift downriver while standing up looking for (and casting to) likely spots. It's almost as good as a drift boat, except that it's a kayak and you can put it right on your car!
