Jean Slade is an East coast account manager for NRS and currently lives in Florida, allowing her to maximize days on the water. Previously spending ten years in Asheville, NC, the heart of the whitewater scene on the East coast, helped shape her career in paddlesports. When she's not working, Jean is most likely paddling down one of the countless rivers in Idaho with her fiance and two dogs. bookmark

Female specific physiology changes how we approach preparing for a paddle as women. We will discuss things such as layering for warmth, sun protection, paddling while menstruating, using the restroom while in a dry suit and all the women specific issues that arise while on the water. Jean Slade will be discussing some of the interesting ideas presented in the book "Roar," by Dr. Stacy Sims.
