Outdoor Programs Coordinator

Full time, Year round

Rutabaga Outdoor Programs (ROP) creates opportunities for all people to connect with nature, others and themselves through time on the water.  The Outdoor Programs Coordinator implements all aspects of the ROP Youth Program under supervision of the Director of Outdoor Programs.  This position shares responsibility for achieving business and program goals for Rutabaga Outdoor Programs and Rutabaga Paddlesports with the entire Rutabaga team. Seasonal Retail Sales Staff

Pay: $11/hour

February - Labor Day

Rutabaga Paddlesports seeks seasonal sales staff. Full time and part time positions available. Join the team at the Midwest’s premier paddlesports store! Share your passion for the outdoors and the gear that gets you there.


As seasonal sales staff, you will assist in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the store. This is primarily a sales position, with the focus being to help customers make informed choices about kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards (SUP), and the attendant gear. Seasonal staff will also assist with the preparation, set-up, and execution of Canoecopia, the world’s largest consumer paddlesports show. If you feel comfortable sharing your enthusiasm for the outdoors in general, and paddlesports specifically, we encourage you to apply.

We are looking to fill General Manager, Assistant Manager, and Boat Crew positions, for both full and part time work. Outdoor Programs Junior Leader Development Internship

June - August

Are you are a high school student looking to gain leadership experience and work with kids? Consider volunteering this summer with our Junior Leaders program. Seasonal Boatie

Pay: $10/hour

Weekends May - Labor Day

If working outside, providing great customer service, and being around boats sounds like your idea of an awesome job then please apply!  The main focus of the boatie position is to assist customers with rentals and boat demos by helping them in and out of kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards (SUP). Gear care, boat storage, boat loading, and warehouse runs to get boats are all part of the job too!  Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs, be outside for extended hours, and have great people skills.
