Description and Details

Description     Specs

If you're looking for a sleek, straight-tracking canoe that's easy to paddle and easy to handle out of the water, the Adirondack fits the bill. Designed for day and overnight trips, it paddles efficiently with a light-to-moderate load. The Adirondack is also graced with excellent stability in most conditions. Canoe & Kayak Magazine said, "This is one smooth paddling canoe." Who said an efficient canoe had to be long? The Adirondack's performance falls in between some of our most popular 16-foot designs. It's more stable and easier to turn than the narrower, faster Escapade but tracks straighter than the nimble Aurora. This balanced performance has made the Adirondack the top choice of people who are looking for a stable, lightweight canoe for lakes and slow moving rivers.

Materials

IB Ultra-light
Weight: 40lbs

IB Ultralight canoes are made from Innegra™ and Aramid fibers. The outer laminate layer is a crowfoot co-weave of polyaramid and Innegra, a high-tech polypropylene fiber offering high flexibility that translates to enhanced impact resistance, especially against punctures. We back this cutting-edge material with proven Aramid fabric, and utilize Wenonah foam core technology to provide maximum stiffness and durability. Ultralight and visually stunning, Wenonah IB Ultralight canoes are the choice of the discerning paddler.

Ultra-light w/ Aramid
Weight: 42lbs

Wenonah’s Ultra-light hulls are stiff and incredibly light. They are ideal for efficient distance paddling and for all people or conditions that demand the lightest gear. Our construction features a structural core and ribs laminated into the hull and sides. Extra fabric layers are then added to strengthen specific targeted areas.

Aluminum plates are strategically laminated into the hull, onto which seats, foot braces and all hardware are then riveted. This gives a highly secure connection and eliminates rivet heads on the exterior.

Flex-Core w/ Aramid
Weight: 49lbs

Flex-core construction creates a more rugged canoe than our Ultra-light core, and is meant for general paddling on all but extreme waters. In our Flex-core constructions a structural-foam core is laminated into the hull, orienting the composite fibers carefully to distribute loads. We add an extra fabric layer to the whole hull. This adds a bit of weight but makes for a stronger, more rigid canoe. Side ribs are not needed because this layup distributes more material throughout the hull. The result is a tough canoe that is still fairly light weight. Using Aramid in our Flex-core layup adds a little weight, but saves some money. The extra layers of fabric and gel-coat finish makes these boats slightly more resistant to damage than our Ultra-Light canoes as well.

Tuf-weave Flex-Core
Weight: 54lbs

Wenonah's Tuf-weave® material is an interwoven fabric made of 50% polyester and 50% fiberglass that out performs either material alone. The Tuf-weave® layup results in our most durable composite canoes. Tuf-weave® canoes offer improved impact resistance and are a great compromise between light weight, performance, and price.

T-Formex
Weight: 69lbs

T-Formex canoes are manufactured from multi-laminate sheets, painstakingly designed specifically for each model. All include a closed-cell, rigid foam core providing structure and buoyancy. T-Formex canoes are incredibly tough and very affordable. This makes them the ideal choice for sportsmen, whitewater paddlers, families and kids, or anybody who wants a very durable canoe. These canoes are much lighter than polyethylene or aluminum canoes and can be built in nearly limitless designs. We offer many models in T-Formex, ranging from cost-conscious touring and sport canoes, to robust whitewater assault canoes.
