Here's a question we get all the time ....


So, here's the scoop... First, on-line shopping is a great thing for just about every product out there and second, when you are buying a boat, you're making a big investment of your time and your money.

After all, it's all about buying the perfect boat.

Now you and I both know that computers are great at some things (and of course, we think our on-line store is awesome) but buying the perfect canoe or kayak needs a bit more love and experience and personal attention than a computer can give. Way more!

See, our goal at Rutabaga is to make you, our customer, uproariously happy with whatever boat you decide to purchase. To do that, we want to make sure that you get exactly what you want -- colors, gunwales or no gunwales, rudder or no rudder, skid plate or not (the list of options is almost endless) and, if we are going to ship it to you, we want to make sure that your perfect boat arrives on time and in perfect condition.

In our many years of putting people on the water, we've learned that the folks who build boats are always offering some new or updated color, configuration and option and sometimes, these need a bit more explanation than we can give on the web. Not to mention that some boats can be delivered immediately and others have to be special ordered to get exactly what you want. (By the way, here at Rutabaga  we typically have around 1000 canoes and kayaks in stock so, there's a good chance we have your perfect boat. If not, we will be happy to custom configure and special order the boat you want..)

Anyhow, that's a lot of choices and a chat with us goes a long way to make sure you get exactly what you want. And besides, we like to get to know you, our customer.
