Film Premieres

This is Canoeing – Justine Curgenven

Rutabaga, Kokatat, Esquif and Cackle TV Productions are pleased to present the world premiere of Justine Crugenven’s new film: This is Canoeing.

Justine will introduce her new film at Rutabaga’s premiere party at the High Noon Saloon on Saturday, March 13 at 8 pm. She’ll highlight 60 minutes of the most dramatic, high adventure footage. As an added treat, on Sunday Justine will present two speaker sessions in which she’ll talk about the making of the film and showcase additional clips from the film.

This is Canoeing is a long overdue celebration of the single blade, showcasing some of canoeing’s most talented paddlers, exploring wilderness & running challenging whitewater. This double-disc set contains three hours of stunning high definition footage. Twelve individual chapters tell the stories of a birchbark canoe journey, a northern wilderness trip, a father and son paddling journey, a voyageur adventure, open canoe slalom, incredible whitewater canoeing, and more. Disc One focuses on three wilderness journeys. The other disc contains shorter segments about inspirational and influential paddlers, plus two whitewater features.

This is Canoeing is produced by Justine Curgenven, an award winning adventure filmmaker, expedition sea kayaker & all round adventurer. Her documentaries have been shown on the BBC and National Geographic and have won her multiple awards at film festivals including Banff, Kendal & the Reel Film Festival. Her entertaining DVDs, This is the Sea (Volumes 1 through 4) have inspired thousands of people to take to the water. Rutabaga is excited that Justine is returning to Canoecopia and invite you to join us at the High Noon Saloon and at the show to be the very first to see what will surely become a classic DVD.
