Who should come? You see kayaks everywhere you go. They’re on top of minivans in the grocery store parking lot and SUVs outside the health club. They’re on beat-up old Volvos and brand new BMWs. Most of all, they’re on the water. You may be thinking, “Gee, that looks like a good time…” You bought a kayak last year and you’ve paddled it around the lake by your neighborhood park. You’ve bumped into a few folks on the water, but you’re not really sure how to move your skills to the next level or find paddling partners. You’ve been paddling for years and have logged quite a few miles, but most of your friends would rather golf than paddle. You’re interested in making connections with the paddling community, and hope to find some local folks who like to paddle too. Or, you attended the Door County Sea Kayak Symposium in past years and had a blast. You enjoyed the high quality of instruction, the beautiful scenery, and the camaraderie with fellow paddlers. In any case, the Door County Sea Kayak Symposium is for you and your family. The Door County Sea Kayak Symposium is an exciting paddling event specifically designed to get you on the water. Paddlers of all ages and abilities will enjoy a supportive learning environment and a wide range of fun and educational experiences, complete with the opportunity to connect with others who love the sport. The symposium will again be held at the Wagon Trail Resort on beautiful Rowleys Bay. Adjacent to the resort are the Mink River Estuary, the Mink River Preserve, and Newport State Park. There are miles of hiking trails, clean sandy beaches, hidden coves, and rocky headlands just minutes away. It’s a perfect location for paddlers and lovers of nature. The Door County Sea Kayak Symposium was created with the help of the Door County Land Trust . Once again, a generous portion of the symposium proceeds will go to this non-profit group to help protect this beautiful and unique part of Wisconsin. | ![]() | |
