Kuhl

Born In The Mountains: Original, unique & refreshingly different™Kuhl’s focus is on the product and only the product, which opposes the logo-driven norm. At Kühl, they set out to demonstrate how original ideas lead to creating the best outdoor lifestyle clothing.

Mountain Hardwear

Mountain Hardwear constructs quality clothing and gear for those who want performance and good looks to go hand-in-hand. Outdoorsy types love the classic styling and the company's devotion to gear that stands up to use - year after year. Mountain Hardwear products are truly designed for a life outdoors.

Patagonia

Whether taking on some extreme outdoor pursuit, just sitting around a campfire or living your everyday, Patagonia is the clothing for your life. This environmentally conscious company does what it can to limit it's negative impact on our planet. Patagonia gets it and Rutabaga has long been a proud dealer of their fine clothing and accessories.
Prana

Prana - Born From The Experience. Like so many outdoor clothing companies, Prana is all about performance - movement and comfort. Prana makes extraordinarily comfortable clothing for yoga, climbing or any pursuit where ease of movement is critical. Ease of movement and comfort in everyday life works too.

Sherpa Adventure Gear

Sherpa’s brand foot print may be small, but they like to think that their heart is big and whether they grow large or not, doesn’t matter, as long as they stay true to themselves, to the Sherpa way. They are a bit different: They create, develop and manufacture over 85% of their products in Nepal; someday they hope to make it 100%. Manufacturing in Nepal is no easy hike and it would be so much easier to outsource to China or Vietnam –but there is much more at stake here. The reward for them comes not in the financials alone, but in seeing the magic of their vision come to life.
Smartwool
SmartWool socks occupy a wall of space here at Rutabaga. We love them and our customers love them, not surprisingly. SmartWool makes more than just socks out of amazing merino wool. Their shirts, sweaters, hats and gloves are true performers. SmartWool is warm and beautifully constructed.

Mr. Kromer had his wife stitch together the first cap by hand, and that’s how they’re still making them today. Everything Stormy Kromer does, in fact—from the materials to their methods—is as authentic as that first cap. You can’t pretend to be a legend. It’s something you earn from your customers, and they're mighty proud to be here...

Buff Apparel at Rutabaga Paddlesports

It all began in 1991 on a bike. Charged with a passion for motorcycles, BUFF's founder, Joan Rojas, sought to find a solution to keep his neck and head protected on his cross-country rides. Plucking from his knowledge of tubular knitting, he churned out the first BUFF® headwear product, focusing on supreme craftsmanship, and tested it as he traveled the length of the Pyrenees. BUFF, short for bufanda, which means “scarf” in Spanish, was born. Partnering with superior manufacturers of raw materials, over the past 25 years, BUFF has premiered and innovated the tubular headwear category.
