Perception Kayak started in (guess) a garage by engineer WIlliam Masters. The kayaking world owes a lot to this visionary man who experimented with rotationally molded kayaks, which is not the predominant method for most plastic boats made world-wide.

Darren the owner's first boat was a Perception Mirage, and for a lot of folks in their 50s or even 60s, it was their first boat too. A 13 foot-long whitewater boat today would be considered outrageous, but that was then.
