Stand Up Paddleboarding is growing in popularity from coast to coast. If you want to take your skills to the next level and develop the necessary technique and tools to help others enjoy the sport, then this is the place for you!
This American Canoe Association Instructor Certification Course will help you teach about the differences between boards, how to launch and land boats in different situations, and how to maximize your stroke efficiency. The training will focus on helping you teach your students how to get the most out of their SUP experience. You'll be on top of teaching about rescues, weather conditions, and a plethora of strokes. Trey Rouss is our Instructor Trainer for this course.
The course is 3 days long with an optional, informal skills session on Thursday from 4-8pm (included with registration for the workshop). The first 2 days of the workshop are spent in training. The 3rd day is the exam. This workshop is perfect for those wanting to sharpen their skills with the goal of being able to teach SUP.
Please note that all participants must agree to abide by Rutabaga's COVID safety protocols. In addition, vaccination from COVID-19 is strongly recommended in order for students to safely and most fully participate in the class.
This course requires a $200 non-refundable deposit to register, with the balance due 4 weeks prior to the start of the course. A 15-business-day cancellation notice is required to receive a refund on the balance of the course fee.
