Help new kayakers develop the basic skills they need to be safe on the water! This certification qualifies you to teach kayak skills in a variety of kayaks (sea, recreational, sit-on-top.) Level 2 certifies candidates to teach in calm, protected waters and is great way for camp waterfront staff to add kayaking to their programs. Level 3 certifies candidates to teach kayaking in areas where more hazards may be encountered, such as mild wind and waves with good access to land. Candidates may pursue either level 2 or level 3 certification in this course. The course will be taught by John Browning, Instructor Trainer Educator.

A few zoom sessions will be required prior to the course. These will be scheduled after registration closes on May 26th based on participant availability.

Course curriculum is available to review at the American Canoe Association website.

The 2023 ICW will meet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Note that this program will NOT be meeting at Rutabaga's retail location in Madison.
