Sunday Morning Pot Pourri

Type: Brown Bag Lunch Seminars
Skill: Beginner
Age: 16 and Older
Sometimes people are just pooped out Sunday morning. If you want to take a break from paddling, we'll have a bunch of dry land classes, including:

Outfitting Your Canoe: Want to learn how to get your canoe set up for whitewater, flatwater, or both> Join canoe expert Brian Heikenen and kayak expert Pete Kuhn to learn how to get the most out of your canoe or kayak.

What's In Your First Aid Kit? Retired physician and experienced paddler will teach what is in your first aid kit that doesn't need to be there, what isn't in there that should, and how to fix it.

Basics of Navigation: Learn the basics of map and compass reading, bearing vs. heading, and deduced reckoning so you don't get lost on a trip. You might learn a little about using the map function of your smartphone, and why it's okay for a back-up, but use the map first. Batteries don't die on maps.

Some of these classes will take the whole session, some are quicker. That depends on how many people sign up. These classes are designed to be hands-on.
