While on a camping, far from help, someone slips and hits their head. Are you prepared to assess their injury and decide whether they must leave the backcountry? NOLS Wilderness Medicine offers courses that prepare you to recognize, treat, and prevent injuries and illnesses common in the outdoors. Our courses range from 2 to 30 days, with various specializations. Courses emphasize assessment, improvisation, and decision making. You'll learn NOLS' industry-leading, data-informed curriculum and build new skills through hands-on practice scenarios. Choose from more than 1,000 courses per year in every state and 40 countries to gain the confidence needed to step forward in an emergency.
