401 N Main St Charles City, Iowa 50616		Northeast Iowa Whitewater is represented by volunteers & paddlers from the whitewater parks located in the Iowa communities of Charles City, Elkader & Manchester. These three parks offer unique river experiences for paddlers, tubers, fisherman and all outdoor enthusiasts. Charles City Whitewater: Located on the Cedar River in downtown Charles City, this park opened in the summer of 2011 as the first in Iowa. This course is rated at Class II and III levels with three distinct features offering whitewater excitement for kayaks, SUPs, tubes and more! The park hosts the Charles City Challenge competition each June. Adjacent Riverfront Park boasts a beautiful setting with stone amphitheatre, naturalized play area, disc golf course, labyrinth and trail; find out more about the park and the community of Charles City at www.ccwhitewater.com or find us on Facebook. Elkader Whitewater Park: Located on the Turkey River in downtown Elkader, opened in the summer of 2014. This river structure features the 22' wide Gobbler Wave, a freestyle wave suitable for whitewater kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and boogie boarding. The wave allows for front surfing and spinning at lower levels, while cartwheels and loops are possible at higher levels. Located in bluff country, the community has a vibrant, historic downtown, the Pony Hollow Nature Trail, and the Turkey River Recreational Corridor. www.elkaderwhitewater.com. Manchester Whitewater: The Whitewater Park at Howard & Helen Shelly Memorial Park is located on the Maquoketa River in downtown Manchester. The park opened in 2015 boasting six whitewater features. The engineered whitewater park affords recreational opportunities for river enthusiasts such as whitewater kayaking, stand up paddling, recreational kayaking/canoeing, tubing and more.
