At Hornbeck Boats, we design, build, and sell ultralight Pack Boats. Our boats are ideal for a wide range of paddling. Whether you're portaging our 10'6" Classic (only 15 lbs!) while pond-hopping in the Adirondack Park; river-tripping in our fast and agile 14' New Trick (24 lbs) through the wilds of Maine; or cruising the Boundary Waters of the Midwest in our 14' Classic (25 lbs and with a capacity of 400 lbs). Our designs are perfect for a long trip or a paddle on your favorite pond after work.

Not quite a canoe, and not quite a kayak, a Pack Boat fits somewhere in between. Visually, a Pack Boat looks like a canoe. It lacks a deck, giving the paddler space for gear and making entry and exit from the boat easier. Like a kayak, the paddler sits comfortably low in the boat, below water level, so body weight serves as stabilizing ballast. By using a double-bladed paddle, even a novice can move the boat quickly and efficiently through the water with little corrective action.

Adirondack made since 1973.
