Every NC Kayak is hand-built from start to finish by 2 craftsmen with decades of experience. Our kayaks are stable and forgiving enough to be paddled by beginners. They are also sea-worthy and exceptionally capable, making them a favorite of instructors and experienced paddlers. NC Kayaks have been paddled across Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and Lake Michigan (7 times), from Alaska to Washington through the Inside Passage, and for untold miles over the last 20 years at a kayak club in Nassau. Our kayaks are optimized for long-distance touring: they have plenty of storage space, a low-drag hull that holds its course, and many, many, other features that combined make NC Kayaks one of the best touring kayaks built. We are also known for our custom gel coat finishes, especially our glitter kayaks, which are stunning to behold. We can do 2, 3, 4, and even 5 color fades, with or without glitter. You can even get the seat, coaming, and bulkheads in our custom finishes. Or maybe you have specific needs for your kayak... we can create a custom laminate just for your paddling needs.
