  Dale Cox

www.nps.gov/sacn

Dale Cox has been a Park Ranger with the National Park Service for over 25 years, most of that time at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Originally from the Ozarks river country, he has spent his career exploring wild places and paddling moving waters. Today he sees the story of our nation's waters as a cautionary tale about our country and its citizens, and encourages people to discover these special places at their own pace and tempo.

Presentations

Paddle the National Parks of the Midwest

America's Heartland has many protected areas to paddle, camp, fish, and sight-see. A number of these special places are managed and protected by the National Park Service. From Isle Royale National Park to the Buffalo National River, and Voyageurs National Park to Cuyahoga National Park, canoers and kayakers can choose between short floats on slow-moving rivers to week-long paddle adventures in remote areas of the Great Lakes area. This fast-paced program will share short introductions to many of these National Park waters awaiting you this summer!

The St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers

Even before they were protected as part of a unique National Park in 1968, the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers were well-known paddling and fishing rivers. Over 50 years later, these waters continue to create memories. Whether you are a beginning kayaker looking for an easy day paddle or an experienced canoeist searching for a week long adventure, this program will introduce you to over 200 miles of protected waters. The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway awaits your discovery!
