||Gina LaLiberte leads response and communication on harmful algal bloom issues as the Statewide Harmful Algal Bloom Coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. She has a BS in Biology and a MS in Resource Ecology Management from the University of Michigan. She has studied algae for over 25 years.
Do you ever wonder what some of that green "stuff" is that you see while paddling? Join Gina as she examines common algae, blue-green algae, and other unassuming yet important and intriguing little green things that are often spotted in waters of the upper Great Lakes region. Take a closer look at blue-green algae blooms, review identification of potentially harmful blooms, and learn practical tips for how to stay safe while enjoying time on the water.
