It sounds easy...buy a boat, put it in the water, start paddling. Let's talk about what you need, what you don't, and more to make a paddler's first or 50th day on the water full of smiles. Come to this safe space where we'll explore all those questions that you've been afraid to ask but need to know.
Learn the principles that experienced leaders follow to safely support groups for day trips on the water. John will focus on pre-trip planning, group and expectation management, risk assessment, and incident management. If you're looking for war stories about how Cousin Eddie got pinned on that nasty rock, this is not the place. Just practical stuff you can use to lead your first, fifth, or 100th trip.
Experience the sights and sounds from ten days of paddling in Alaska's Prince William Sound. Leaving from Whitter, we'll go through the trip planning process, route selection, gear choices, and must-see destinations.
Loading your personal and shared group gear in your boat is both art and science. This hands-on workshop will equip you with tips and tricks to pack your kit for a dry, safe and enjoyable multi-day journey without having to cut the handle off your toothbrush.
Get ready to move in this fun, hands-on session where you'll learn and practice functional exercises to help you paddle longer, faster, and stronger. Learn simple exercises requiring little or no equipment that will make you a better paddler, build endurance, and prevent injury. Join John, to improve your outdoor experience and become the best paddler you can be.
