Andrew and Ethan have 70+ years of combined wilderness camping and guiding experience. They take pride in having a spotless record not feeding wilderness bears. Pine squirrels and mice are a different story. They hope that after their presentation you can share their success and gain valuable tips on keeping your food safe in bear country. They'll have various bear barrels, food hanging systems, bear deterrents, and other techniques to keep your food safe while camping. New this year, they'll have special updates to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area's new food storage mandates. Their guest Sara Fisher, a DNR Assistant Large Carnivore Biologist, will talk about what different bear behaviors mean during an encounter and what you should do if you have an unwanted bear encounter.
