  Kerry Pflugh

Kerry Kirk Pflugh has been kayaking for 20 years. She became involved in sea kayaking following a 10-day kayaking and snorkeling trip in Baja, Mexico. She returned from Mexico and bought a sea kayak which began a life-long love affair with the sport. She has attended numerous symposiums over the years, served as the president of the Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association, and New Jersey's ACA State Director. She became an ACA Level 4 Open Water Sea Kayak Instructor, teaching classes across New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Rhode Island. In more recent years, her focus has been on expeditions with friends. Her travels have included Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, sections of the Delaware, Mississippi, Saguenay and St. Lawrence rivers, and a circumnavigation of the State of New Jersey. Her favorite place to paddle is where she has never paddled before. When not kayaking, she lives in New Jersey with her husband Ed, sons Erich and Zachary, and three dogs - Tucker, Cooper and Loki.

Six Women, Six Days, Several Islands - An Adventure In the Apostle Islands, Lake Superior
Caribou - upstairs Sat 1:30pm-2:15pm
Six women hailing from five states, spanning five decades came together for six days this past summer for a paddling adventure in the Apostle Islands. Join us as we recount how we found each other; what we did to become a cohesive group; what planning was involved, and how we determined what was essential to bring and what could be left behind. Hear about the islands we visited; the caves we explored; the storm that chased us, and the rogue wave that dampened our lunch but not our spirits.
