  Paula Furlich

Paula 'Fred" began her BWCA adventures in 2010 after a battle with breast cancer. A lifelong outdoor explorer, she jumped at the chance to celebrate as a survivor in the wilderness of Northern Minnesota. She grew up camping with her family in a Pathfinder trailer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and took her own children on tent camping adventures in the US National Parks. Paula lives in Minnetonka, Minnesota with her husband and six chickens. Her children and grandchildren love listening to her Boundary Waters stories. She is training her 2-year-old granddaughter to carry the canoe for her so she can continue adventuring into her 80s.
