||Gina LaLiberte leads response and communication on cyanobacterial bloom issues as the Statewide Harmful Algal Bloom Coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. A life-long resident of the Great Lakes region, she has a BS in Biology and a MS in Resource Ecology Management from the University of Michigan. She has studied algae for 30 years.
Do you wonder what that green "stuff" is that you see while paddling? Join Gina as she examines some common algae, blue-green algae, and other unassuming yet important and intriguing little green things that are often spotted in waters of the upper Great Lakes region. Take a close look at blue-green algae blooms, review identification of potentially harmful blooms, and learn practical tips for how to stay safe while enjoying time on the water.
