Miles Gordon is a filmmaker from Toronto, Canada, whose work focuses on documenting the remote regions of the North. His childhood summers spent mostly in a canoe ultimately led to his pursuit of expedition filmmaking. His award-winning films - Once Upon a Time in the North, The Shape of Cedar, and Veins Are Rivers Too - have been recognized across Canada for excellence in cinematography and storytelling. Camp Temagami is a wilderness canoe tripping organization based on Lake Temagami, Ontario. Continuing a century-old legacy, the camp emphasizes craftsmanship, traditional equipment, and experiential learning. Together, Miles and Camp Temagami unite storytelling and tradition to celebrate the enduring art of wilderness travel. |

Veins Are Rivers Too is an award-winning short film that celebrates the timeless connection between people and the northern wilderness. Filmmaker Miles Gordon captures the artistry and spirit of traditional canoe tripping-journeys powered by paddle, portage, and self-reliance. The film invites audiences to reflect on what it means to travel simply, quietly, and purposefully through wild places.
Following the screening, Miles will lead a brief Q&A exploring the challenges of expedition filmmaking, the legacy of Temagami's canoe routes, and the enduring value of unplugging to reconnect with land and water.
