Justin Adams grew up canoeing and fishing on the rivers of southwest Missouri and continued that passion into adulthood where he has made his career in the outdoors working for Missouri State Parks. Adams also participates in endurance events including ultramarathon trail running and gravel cycling. At 54 years old he decided to dip his paddle in the Missouri River and take on the greatest challenge he has faced yet, the Missouri River 340.

Also Presenting With

His deep knowledge of the race and the Missouri River make him a good resource for all of you taking on the race. He's proud to be a part of this race community and loves to connect with all the towns along the race course. Reach Steve and the MR340 Race Team at racing@riverrelief.org

The MR340-Advice and anecdotes from 20 years of racing on the Missouri River.
Sylvania - main floor Sat 3:30pm-4:15pm
The MR340 is the world's longest non-stop river race stretching 340 miles on the MIssouri River. Racers begin in Kansas City, Ks where the Kaw River joins the Missouri, and paddle across the great state of Missouri finishing in St. Charles, MO. Racers must reach 5 checkpoints by the established times or they will be disqualified. The Missouri American Water MR340 is a true community event - a community created by the river. To witness the determination of the racers, the grit of the ground crews and the hospitality of the volunteers is a truly inspiring thing. The race is hosted by Missouri River Relief, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting people to the Missouri River through stewardship, education and recreation. Many racers describe the race as life-changing, most agree it is a grueling test of determination, planning, a little luck and a lot of paddling! Join race director Steve Schnarr and first time finisher Justin Adams, as they provide their experiences and insights into this great adventure.
