Due to our staffing capabilities, we are suspending our day camp operations this summer. We want to run high quality programming, providing your children with skills and experiences that they’ll never forget. We want camps to be a safe space, physically and emotionally, and provide proper supervision with qualified day camp counselors and supervisors ensuring positive outcomes day after day. With our current and anticipated staffing capabilities, we cannot confidently deliver the camp programs that we would be proud to provide and that you are depending on for your child’s summer camp experience.
We plan on holding our Day Camp programs next year. We will be working on building up our capabilities over the next year so we can provide new and exciting programs that we can be proud of, and that will provide the experiences that your children will cherish for a lifetime.
Justin Schmitz, Director of Outdoor Adventures and the Rutabaga Paddlesports Team
Get set to get wet and have a blast! Whether your child has never picked up a paddle, or is already a paddling veteran there's something for everyone in Rutabaga's summer camp programs. Paddling is a great way for young people to develop self-confidence, independence, awareness, a love of nature, and a sense of accomplishment that comes from meeting a new challenge. Taking full advantage of Madison's beautiful waterways, our experienced Day Camp Counselors lead canoe, kayak and stand-up paddleboard camps with an emphasis on water safety, natural conservation and fun. Geared towards kids ages 8-14.
